Arena League Round 3

Well done Paignton!

Paignton swimmers celebrated after coming second in the last round of this year’s Arena League, with a session in the diving pool at Plymouth Life Centre, followed by a feast at McDonalds. Many thanks to “Fun Squad” for organising and well done to all swimmers. As always, the Paignton cheers were the loudest!

Devonport Dasher 29Nov-1Dec

Fantastic weekend for the 22 Paignton swimmers who travelled to Plymouth for the Dasher Christmas meet.  Every swimmer achieved brilliant results and there was plenty of poolside fun!  A few stats…102 races, 70 PBs (69% of all swims), 22 gold, 13 silver and 8 bronze medals, lots of County and Regional qualifying times, and ending with top boy of the meet award for Nathan.  So great results all round.  Well done swimmers and Coach Kev, and thanks to all the team managers.

Well done Harriette!

Well done to Harriette Lewcock for being selected to represent Devon in the National County Championships at the weekend at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.  Harriette swam the backstroke leg in the girls 12/13 medley relay.  Brilliant swim by the Devon team who won their first ever National County Team Championship title!

Exeter Sprint Meet 2019

Last Sunday saw 23 Paignton swimmers compete at the Exeter Sprint Meet. It was a tough meet at the beginning of the new race season and in the middle of a heavy training cycle, but all the swimmers stepped up pulling off good swims, lots of PBs and numerous medals. Special mention has to go to the 10 year old girls who dominated the medals in their age group in every event and to Alex Worth who won the award for top boy of the meet.

Newton Abbot Ribbon Gala

The season started off with the annual Newton Abbot Ribbon Gala on Saturday which was attended by 19 of our younger squad swimmers. For many this was their first taste of a gala but that didn’t stop them from performing brilliantly!  Lots of medals and ribbons were won but more importantly all swimmers thoroughly enjoyed themselves and as coaches we are excited to see them compete in their next gala !   Well done.
